Let all things be done for edification. If any speak in a tongue\, let there be only two or at most three\, and each in turn; and let one interpret. But if there is no one to interpret\, let each one of them keep silence in church and speak to himself and to God. Let two or three prophets speak\, and let the others weigh what is said. If a revelation is made to another by sitting by\, let the first be silent. For you can all prophesy one by one\, so that all may learn and all be encouraged; and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. But God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints\, the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak\, but should be subordinate\, as even the law says. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea\, they were terrified\, saying\, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear. But immediately he spoke to them\, saying “Take heart\, it is I; have no fear.”\n And Peter answered him\, “Lord\, if it is you\, bid me come to you on the water.” He said\, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus; but when he saw the wind\, he was afraid\, and beginning to sink he cried out\, “Lord\, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him\, saying to him\, “O man of little faith\, why did you doubt?” And when they entered the boat\, the wind ceased. And those in the boat worshiped him\, saying\, “Truly you are the Son of God.” And when they had crossed over\, they came to land at Gennesaret.

Bring him here to me.”  And Jesus rebuked him\, and the demon came out of him\, and the boy was cured instantly.  Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said\, “Why could we not cast it out?”  He said to them\, “Because of your little faith.  For truly I say to you\, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed\, you will say to this mountain\, ‘Move hence to yonder place\,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.  But this kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting.”  As they were gathering in Galilee\, Jesus said to them\,  “The Son of man is to be delivered into the hands of men\, and they will kill him\, and he will be raised on the third day.”

Not that we are competent of ourselves to claim anything as coming from us; our competence is from God\, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant\, not in a written code but in the Spirit; for the written code kills\, but the Spirit gives life.\nNow if the dispensation of death\, carved in letters on stone\, came with such splendor that the Israelites could not look at Moses’ face because of its brightness\, fading as this was\, will not the dispensation of the Spirit be attended with greater splendor?
